[Tenshi_MKII] Restaurant Review: Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe
Popularity: 4% [?] Published by Tenshi_MKII August 13th, 2009 in Tenshi_MKII, RandomWhen I was out searching for JLPT3 books with the aid of my cousin in Kinokuniya@Liang Court last week, I came across this Japanese style Italian food family restaurant. Since my cousin and her friends have not eaten there before, we decided to try. It’s actually cheap Italian food affordable by anyone; you can eat a meal for under $12 with free flow of drinks.
Ambiance (3/10)
Decor is pretty standard but the music is pretty much covered by LOUD voices (you have to literally shout to place your order) but then, it could be due to the Friday crowd. By the way, I’m a person who wants to enjoy his meal in peace.
Food (6/10)
Since we only ordered hamburger steaks and pizza and I only comment about them. For the hamburger steak, it cost around $7-8. Anyway, the portion is small (a fully grown man would probably need 2 servings of the main course) and the potato wedges tasted funny. As for the pizza, it was pretty good. Drinks wise, there’s not much of a variety. For those who drink a lot, you will definitely get your worth since it’s free flow.
Service (7/10)
The food was served very fast despite of the crowd but most of the waiters were Japanese so you might have trouble understanding their English and they tend to end each line with thank you(Waiter: You ordered steak, thank you. You ordered salad, thank you.). I’m not complaining about them being too polite by adding thanks at the end of each sentence but it gets irritating after a while.
My Take on it
If you are a person who doesn’t eat much, low on budget and want have a good meal without minding the noise, Saizeriya is your choice.

Do not use any < and > for your own sake. It will end the comment there and then. Also, there is an automatic IQ filter which weeds out comments made by those who accidentally got transported from the stone age.

well, the best dish in Saizeriya in Japan circa 2001 was the cheesy risotto. I still dream about it. If they have it over there do try it.
no pics?
I think you went at a very, very bad time. It’s usually empty, and most of the waiters aren’t really Japanese (except for 1-2). Or at least, I’d like to think that most of the Japanese waiters were working at that very shift on Friday evenings.
