Whew I haven’t exercised for the longest time and the five hour session in the gym really left me drained. But rest assured it isn’t the dangerous stinky kind of sport. I was at the cybergym doing cybersports. 5 hours of non-stop Quake and CS in a steaming hot, dark and smoky room really trains up dexterity, endurance and concentration. The session today made me realise I’m pretty rusty and unused to optical mice now that my own and office ones are both balled, thanks to budget constraints.  With a ball mouse you can do the ball sliding thing with your wrist but with optical you rely a bit more on your arm.

I went down to the stores today to get my copy of Hobby Japan and was pleasantly surprised (or rather, ill-prepared financially) to see my order of the Shin Angyo Onshi manga had arrived, all 13 of them. Also picked up Negima 14 and Rose Hip Zero 3. Yeah so I’m pretty screwed. 24 dollars left in my bank account, 6 days to payday. And I used 10 dollars to play LAN.

Latendo had a ton of new stock, notably the Pinky St Sakura, SR DX Alice Carroll, GSC Mai, Dokuro-chan and others. They also restocked GSC Yakumo, Alter Maia and a few older stuff. KKnM got the Tenma so those hungry for SR figurines please hurry and get them. Shockingly, KKnM is selling Tenma for $68 while Latendo is selling Yakumo at $85 even though they retail at the same price. DX Chika and Matsuri have arrived too, though mine are still on the plane. As expected, they are hideous. But I just cannot stop buying Ichigo Mashimaro goods. Chika has a huge head. What a royal waste of money. Luckily the waitress version coming soon promises to rescue her image.

Latendo brought in a lot of Final Fantasy Potions. Anyone who actually buys this has to be certified insane or plain stupid. It’s a fancily named poorly designed blue bottle filled with a vile juice. It doesn’t even heal 100 hp. Such a gimmicky item can only come from Japan. 20 dollars.

What!Comics is now known as Ani-play and comes with a new signboard and logo.

I’m a bit worried that it’ll suck though, the manga.

Shin Angyo Onshi is good. Art is good. And it was interesting enough to make me stay awake during my duty for a straight five hours.

I nearly bought a bunch just to get the different designs and cards.

Shin Angyo Onshi is an excellent manga. The art and story line is exceptional. Actually its anime got me started but the manga comic is also fabulous. Only sad thing is that it has just launched its 14th volume and yet the translated manga is so slow (halfway through volume 6). Kind of sad, isn’t ot?
